Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar Monday issued guidelines to divisional commissioners and RPOs for improving the law and order situation and providing relief to the general public. He issued these directives, presiding over a meeting held to review the law and order situation and the steps taken for providing relief to people.

"Sahiwal incident is tragic and all the sympathies of the Punjab government are with the family of deceased Khalil," he said, addressing the meeting. He added that the PTI government would take care of the affected family. Buzdar alerted that the commissioners and RPOs would have to deliver by working in the field while police and administration would be strengthened by the government. He told them that the PTI government already freed the administration and police from political pressure.

"The law and order situation is not satisfactory and it needs to be improved further," he said, directing that the operation against the land-grabbers should continue without any discrimination. He instructed that commissioners and RPOs should solve the problems of the people by holding open-courts in their respective districts. The open-door policy should also be implemented in letter and spirit, he said. He said ban has been imposed on postings and transfers. Law Minister Raja Basharat, Chief Secretary, ACS (Home), IG Police, concerned secretaries, divisional commissioners and RPOs attended the meeting.
